Job Description
Position: Senior Network Engineer/Technician/Architect
Skills: SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER/ARCHITECT/TECHNICIAN/CCNP/ROUTERS/SWITCHES/ASA - FIREWALLS/CATALYST - PERMANENT - £40-45K + BENEFITS
Major Financial seek an experienced Senior Network Technician/Architect. The candidate should ideally be, at a minimum, Cisco CCNP qualified to join a small engineering team. The candidate must be familiar with the Cisco range of Routers, Switches and Firewalls- primarily ASA 55XX, Catalyst 37XX and 4XXX.
A complete understanding of the design, implementation of low latency, resilient and secure bandwidth managed international trading network, or similar environment, is a necessity. The candidate must possess the ability to work procedurally, methodically, produce clear and concise documentation together with ability to manage change effectively. Knowledge of network monitoring tools and the implementation of QOS across a multipoint Ethernet environment would be a distinct advantage.
This is a "hands on" role.
The trading applications deployed are TT, Stellar and PATS, they also deploy information feeds from Reuters, Futuresource, Bloomberg and CQG. The majority of their Servers are HP, we some Sun Systems deployed. They connect to Liffe, Eurex, Euronext, ICE, eCBOT, CME and Montreal. The department's role is to provide on going support for the deployment of these trading systems, information and data feeds, whether hardware or software, and the infrastructure that supports them.
